ALLESTIMENTO DELLA MOSTRA ITINERANTE LE VIE DEL MARE

Il progetto per la Mostra Itinerante Le Vie del Mare, è stato sviluppato nel quadro del progetto europeo (POR Sicilia) per la realizzazione della Rete dei Musei del Mediterraneo in collaborazione con la Regione Sicilana, e accompagnato dalla realizzazione del portale internet, da noi realizzato, in un periodo di tempo compreso tra il 2005 e il 2008.
La mostra, di livello internazionale, è stata allestita in Italia a Palermo, Venezia, Genova, Napoli, e all’estero al Pireo (Grecia), Khanià (Creta), Piran (Slovenia), Barcellona, Cartagena Alicante (Spagna), Gibilterra (Regno Unito), e Marsiglia (Francia).
Il progetto allestitivo consisteva nella realizzazione di sei artefatti, sorta di grandi arche simbolicamente cariche di saperi e di tradizioni millenarie che, collocate negli ambienti espositivi dovevano evocare una flotta in navigazione verso i lidi e i porti del Mediterraneo. Ogni arca, corrispondente ad una tema o sezione espositiva era composta da uno scafo lungo circa sei metri e da un volume luminoso mistilineo, che simboleggiava una vela.
Tutte le arche era equipaggiata con un carico proprio: teche per l’esposizione di reperti archeologici, proiettori per diffondere immagini e suoni sulle pareti degli ambienti espositivi, monitor e grandi schermi. Una di esse “trasportava” libri, cioè tutta quella letteratura che da sempre accompagna il rapporto tra l’uomo e il mediterraneo. Il risultato – nonostante la bassa qualità artigianale con cui furono realizzate le arche e la progressiva consunzione delle stesse tra una mostra e l’altra – negli ambienti storici in penombra, come l’Arsenale di Venezia o le officine di Khanià, era molto suggestivo. Ma anche a Marsigla nella grande hall del Museè de la Marine de L’Economie, Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie, completamente illuminata con il quasi azzeramento dell’effetto “vela luminosa”, fu di notevole effetto scenografico.
The design for the Itinerant Exhibition The Way of the Sea, was developed in the framework of an European project (POR Sicilia) for the creation of the Museums of the Mediterranean Network of in collaboration with the Regione Sicilana, and accompanied by the creation of the Internet portal made by our team, in a time period between 2005 and 2008.
The exhibition, of international level, was set up in Italy at Palermo, Venice, Genoa, Naples, and abroad in Piraeus (Greece), Khania (Crete), Piran (Slovenia), Barcelona, Cartagena Alicante (Spain), Gibraltar (United Kingdom), and Marseille (France).
The exhibition design consisted of the construction of six artifacts, sort of large arks symbolically full of of knowledge and ancient traditions that, placed in the exhibition spaces had to evoke a fleet sailing to the shores and mediterranean harbours.
Each ark, corresponding to a theme or exhibition section was composed of a shell about six meters long and a luminous volume mixtilinear, symbolizing a sail. Each ark was equipped with its own load: display cases for the exhibition of archaeological finds, projectors to spread images and sounds on the walls of the exhibition spaces, monitors and large screens. One of them “was carrying” books, that is all that literature which has always accompanied the relationship between man and the Mediterranean.
The result – despite the low quality craftsmanship with which they were made the arks and the gradual consumption of the arks themselves between a exhibition and the other – in the ancient environment with dim light, such as the Arsenal of Venice or in the old shipyards of Khania, was quite impressive. But also in the great hall of the Museè de la Marine de L’Economie, fully illuminated with almost zero effect “light sail”, it was of considerable visual effect.
